Before You Submit

What documents can be apostilled?

Most U.S. public documents: certified vital records, court records, notarized documents, school records, business filings and federal records. See our Services page for details.

Do I need to mail my original?

Usually, yes. An apostille is attached to the original or a certified copy, not a photocopy. Your photo or scan is just for the review and quote.

Can I include several documents in one order?

Yes. List them all in one request and we'll quote them together.

How long does it take?

Processing times are set by each government office and vary throughout the year. We'll keep you updated at every step.

Does my document need to be recent?

Often, yes. Many receiving agencies only accept documents issued within a certain time, commonly the last 6 to 12 months. Vital records like birth and marriage certificates frequently need to be newly ordered from the issuing office before they can be apostilled. Please check the receiving agency's date requirement before you order, and allow time for the new copy to arrive.

What if I can’t mail my passport or driver’s license?

You may be able to use a copy certification by document custodian instead. You sign a sworn statement that a photocopy is true and complete, and a notary notarizes your signature. Please confirm with the receiving agency that they accept this before ordering.
