Documents signed by federal officials can't be apostilled by a state. They go to the U.S. Department of State's Office of Authentications. We prepare your federal documents, complete the required request forms, and submit them for you.
FBI Identity History Summary (FBI background check) commonly required for work visas, residency and adoption abroad
IRS Form 6166, the U.S. residency certification used to claim tax treaty benefits
Certified copies of naturalization certificates and other USCIS records
FDA and USDA certificates for export
Other federal agency documents signed by a federal official

An FBI background check must be the original issued by the FBI or an FBI-approved channeler, with the official's signature and seal. A copy or a notarized copy won't work.
Don't have a federal document notarized to get a state apostille instead. Most foreign authorities expect the U.S. Department of State's apostille on federal records.
Check how recent your destination country needs the document to be. Many countries ask for a background check issued within the last 3 to 6 months.
